SECAC Conferences |
The SECAC conference is a yearly conference that is held each fall at a different city each year. Our conference is 100 percent in person in order to promote the best interaction, discourse, discussion, and synergy among professional colleagues. SECAC members are supportive and encouraging, making our conference one of the best to connect and network with those in the field of visual arts. Would you like to propose a session for this year's conference? Our call for sessions is currently open! All submissions must be submitted through our submissions platform. You can find where to submit on our website, via the Quick Links buttons on the righthand side. For more information on being our session chair, please review our Guidelines for Session Chairs. Would you like to submit a paper for a session in this year's conference? Our call for papers opens February 1, 2025. All papers are reviewed by the session chairs and notifications are sent out by May 20, 2025. Would you like to volunteer at the conference? By working a three-hour shift, you can get your conference registration for free! This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to supplement their travel income for the SECAC conference, as well as meet other members of SECAC. You will assist at the registration desk and work with the SECAC administrator, Rebecca Parker, and the current conference director. An email will go out to all SECAC members in late summer each year about volunteering. Interested in submitting a current work for our annual Juried Exhibition? Our call for entries opens February 15, 2025. Those selected will have their work displayed during the conference at an exhibition space for all conference attendees. Our annual Artist Fellowship is awarded to an artist or group of artists working together on a specific project. This $5,000 Fellowship is granted during each conference and the artist/s chosen to display their work at the next yearly conference. Interested in applying? Find out more about this opportunity on our website: https://secacart.org/page/ArtistsFellowship. Would you like to sponsor part of the SECAC conference? Your company or institution can host one of breaks at the conference, sponsor our awards luncheon, provide a gift-in-kind for our keynote speaker, or provide a space for our juried exhibition. Please contact our conference director, Tracy Stonestreet, SECACdirector@umw.edu, for details on these opportunities! |
