Mentoring Program

SECAC Mentoring Program

Established in 2011, by former SECAC President Sandra Reed, the SECAC Mentoring Program is designed to help those new in the field of the visual arts connect with an experienced SECAC member for resume review, advice on career pathways, and providing guidance and support.

In 2024, we had over 90 SECAC members participate in this vital and growing program!

MENTORING PROGRAM: Application Deadline: 11:59 pm EDT, October 8, 2025

The annual SECAC conference offers one-on-one mentoring appointments for SECAC members.

Each individual mentor appointment will be scheduled for forty-five minutes. Those involved in
mentoring will receive an initial introduction to a colleague whom you will meet by email; an in-
person introduction can possibly be arranged at the conference registration desk.

You will be paired with a SECAC colleague to serve as a mentor or mentee based on the
information that you provide. Limited mentoring appointments are available. It may not be
possible to accommodate all requests.

We will reach out to you with your paired mentee/mentor the week before the conference begins.

Appointments will be conducted in a public area mutually determined by the mentor and mentee pair.

We will provide a Google form to complete if you are interested in serving as a mentor or mentee, starting in August 2025.

For any questions, kindly email Nikhil Ghodke, 2025 SECAC Mentoring Program Coordinator, nghodke@aum.edu and cc: Rebecca Parker, SECAC Administrator, at rparker@secacart.org.
