SECAC membership is open to all and is renewable on an annual basis beginning the month of application and payment. Dues are $100 for individuals, $50 for adjunct and independent members, $45 for retired members, $35 for students, and $200 for institutions.

* Participate in the annual conference that serves as a focal point for discussion and for professional networking contact with colleagues in SECAC. * Publish original research, book reviews, and exhibition reviews in Art Inquiries, SECAC's peer-reviewed, open-source journal dedicated to research in the arts. * Include professional announcements in the semi-annual newsletter. * Participate in programs that recognize professional achievement, including the SECAC Awards program, William R. Levin Awards for Art History, the SECAC Artist’s Fellowship, SECAC EDI Awards, and the Juried Exhibition at the annual conference. * Access professional networking through the SECAC Mentorship Program. * Contribute to the shared governance of SECAC by voting in the annual Board of Directors election and attending the Members' Business Meeting at the annual conference.
** Adjunct/Independent membership is a benefit for members who are entirely independent practitioners or contingent faculty without full-time employment.

* Participate in the annual conference at a reduced registration rate and interact with students and faculty from other institutions who have similar interests. * Access professional networking and career advising through the SECAC Mentorship Program. * Access funding opportunities for participation in the annual conference, including the Gulnar Bosch Travel Awards and SECAC EDI Awards programs. * Receive the newsletter.
* Student membership is a benefit for members who are currently enrolled students without full-time employment.
Benefits of Institutional Membership
* Receive one complimentary individual-equivalent membership to be designated at the institution's discretion. * Receive two complimentary student-equivalent memberships to be designated at the institution's discretion. * Post unlimited complimentary ads for your institution’s arts-related full-time and part-time job listings without charge. * Receive special institutional recognition through inclusion in the SECAC Directory and the institutional member listings in the annual conference program and Art Inquiries, SECAC’s peer-reviewed, open-source journal dedicated to research in the arts. * Support activities of one of the oldest and most active academic art organizations in the nation. Through conferences, programs, and publications, SECAC provides opportunities for contact, stimulation, and enrichment for artists, art historians, art educators, and arts administrators nationwide. *Annual dues waived for Historically Black Colleges and Universities that are institutional members of SECAC; enter code HBCU when joining or renewing.
